I have attempted to be a blogger several times, with little to no success, in the past. This is nothing terribly new for me…I have honestly tried to do it every year to no avail. I either completely lose interest or just can’t keep up with posting. It’s been a failure, after failure, after failure. Now, most people don’t see it, but there’s a silver lining in every failure in that one learns something they did not know before after they get it wrong.
So far, here is what I’ve learned from failures of previous Blog attempts:
- Don’t be overzealous…you’re not going to make a post every day.
- Pick a style and stick with it.
- Finding your voice is hard, but eventually it comes to you.
- Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get a bazillion followers after a couple of posts. They’ll come soon enough.
- It’s okay to share on social media….just be mindful of your audience.
That being said, I am changing a few things.
First, Welcome to Foxy Lemonade Stand. This blog will be centered around the concept of: “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” I will also have some content centered around self care and building/maintaining relationships in your life. I hope that it is some content that my readers will enjoy and that it all gels together better than my last attempt.
Second, I am switching all my lifestyle posts from “With Love, From ETX” to “The Foxy Lemonade Stand” and all my fitness posts will go on “The Fox Run”. I will leave reference links on related posts to each blog page if I make references to one or the other.
Third, I am only making a goal to make 2 posts per month. With time, I’m sure the times for each month will become consistent, but for now it will just be when the mood strikes me. It’s not perfect, but I think it will help me at least make a post that doesn’t feel rushed or half-hearted. I want to focus on making quality content and hopefully resonates with at least one reader.
This is going to take a lot of learning and growing. For now, I have a simple blog with a pretty plain background and color scheme and a few words on it. Eventually, I would love to see this flourish into a legit website full of thoughts, ideas, collaboration and wisdom all on a fly looking site. I’ll do a proper introduction post soon, but I just wanted to get the forward out of the way. For anyone that’s still following me, thank you for sticking with me through the growing pains. For those of you who are new, Welcome. I promise to not forget about this in a month and I hope to continue on writing and hopefully helping some of you.
